I wish I could rate Coos Bay Manor three and a half stars... My husband and I were recently on a road trip, driving up the coast from Eureka, CA to Portland, and needed a one-night place to stay. We were excited when we found (on Yelp!) that this historic building was turned into a bed and breakfast. We quickly booked a room based on the website's pictures. We had originally wanted the Baron's, but it was occupied for the night. We settled on the Colonial, but I wish we had stayed in the Victorian. We really liked the friendly innkeepers and the breakfast was pretty good. We especially liked the morning coffee/tea service that was delivered to our door before breakfast. (And they do serve good coffee.) The reason for the three stars is that our room did not quite meet our expectations. The Colonial looked nothing like the pictures, poorly decorated and the carpet was old and icky. We were looking for a cozy, comfortable room but the decor was so old-fashioned that we felt a little unsettled. It just wasn't very homey. Had we stayed in a different room, I think we would have felt differently about the whole experience. We took a peek at the other rooms before we left and I recommend the Victorian - nicely decorated, a hardwood floor, and even the bathroom was cute.

I was pleasantly surprised by this wonderful B & B, location was great, food wonderful, host and hostess helpful and polite, warm and inviting. I have not one complaint. It was such a nice, relaxing stay, that I would recommend it to all who like comfortable beds, delightful food, elegance and historical buildings. The price is really great too. I am really happy to say that we were greeted warmly and treated as part of the family throughout our stay for 2 nights. So, be sure to give this B & B a try, and take along a camera for I regret not taking photos.

What a great find & the price was right! The house was beautiful & decorated with original or era appropriate items. Gabbed with the owners over a glass of wine & learned a lot about the house's history. Breakfast was simple, filling & good. I would stay again.

This would have been a 5 star rating if I was over 65. As B&Bs go, it was lovely - a historic building, comfortable four-poster bed with en suite bathroom with copious amounts of fluffy towels, spectacular breakfast and close to town...BUT...the host was borderline obsequious/I'm-going-to-take-you-to-the-basement-and-kill-you kind of way which made us change reservations for our next B&B for the anonymity of a Best Western. Mumsy would have liked it, though.

This place is beautiful. Completely restored, the rooms are great. We had fresh coffee and tea waiting outside of the door in the morning. The breakfast was great and we enjoyed a good conversation in the sitting room. This is a great place to stay.

We enjoyed our stay here. The owners are nice and the room and bathroom were clean. The bed was super comfortable as well.
